LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola University senior Weston Leopold became the first Eagle to earn All-Golden State Athletic Conference honors after the all-conference team was announced on Tuesday morning.

Leopold played a lot better than his 6-13 overall record would suggest, battling some of the top NAIA and GSAC players over the course of the season. Playing as the No. 1 singles player, Leopold was routinely pitted against the top player on the other teams and took quite a few to the wire. As an example, two of his losses came in three sets including taking Point Loma Nazarene's Tyler Bowman to three before ultimately falling in his next-to-last match of the season.

Leopold is Biola's first All-GSAC representative since the sport was re-instated in 2007. 

Biola wrapped up the season with a record of 5-15 and went 2-12 in GSAC play, finishing seventh in the conference standings. The Eagles finished 27th in the final NAIA Regular Season poll with the top six teams in the GSAC placing in the top 12.
