MONROE, Ore. --- Playing in its first three-round tournament of the season, Biola's fledgling women's golf team finished seventh, missing the top five but a handful of strokes at the NAIA West Coast Qualifier at the Diamond Woods Golf Course in Monroe. Whitney Hobbs led the Eagles with a 10th place finish.

Hobbs was solid in the two-day tournament, firing a 34-over-par 250, carding rounds of 87,79, and 84. Beth Williams was Biola's second-highest finisher with a 302 (107-101-94) to place 27th overall. Claire Prentice placed 28th overall with a 313 (105-114-94) and Jilianna Plumb took home 34th. 

Biola, which is competing in its first year as a full team, did well despite being without their fifth golfer, who likely would have helped bring down their total score. The Eagles finished with a team score of 1268, which was 44 strokes behind sixth-place Simpson University and 57 behind fifth-place Corban University. California Baptist University won the tournament with a 944.
