LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola senior guards Dwight Gordon and Nate Rakestraw have been named to the 2010-11 Men's Basketball All-Golden State Athletic Conference team as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Gordon, a senior from Fontana, led the team in scoring, averaging 14.5 points per game this season, which ranks fifth in the conference. He really turned it on in the second half of the season, averaging 16.1 points per contest since the calendar turned to 2011. Over that stretch, he scored 20 or more points six times including four times in five games at one point.

Gordon, who is regarded as one of the best guards in the conference, recorded his first two double-doubles of the season in the final two games of the regular season, scoring 16 points and adding 10 rebounds in a win at Hope International on Tuesday. He then followed that up with 10 points and 10 rebounds in Biola's victory over Point Loma Nazarene on Thursday.

Rakestraw, a senior from Siloam Springs, Ark., averaged 9.8 points per game for the Eagles and was a sniper from long-range. He finished sixth in the GSAC in three-pointers made with 56 and hit at least one in all but four games this season. His best came against Fresno Pacific where he hit 6-of-10 from long range and finished with a season-best 21 points.

Rakestraw also averaged 32.7 minutes per game--the second-most minutes in the conference--and alos had 50 steals, an average of 1.7 per game which was fifth-best in the GSAC. 

Biola wrapped up the regular season as the No. 12 team in the NAIA national rankings, posting a 26-4 overall record. The Eagles finished third in the conference with a 16-4 overall mark and earned the No. 3 seed in the GSAC Tournament, which begins on Thursday with Biola hosting No. 6 Point Loma Nazarene beginning at 7:30 p.m.
