April Smith won a pair of events and junior
Amber Kiel won another to lead Biola at its lone home meet of the season on Saturday at Splash Aquatics Center in La Mirada.
The Eagles ended up dropping the meet 163-75 to the Cougars, but did add another swimmer to the long list of NAIA Qualifiers to this point.
Smith took top honors in the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:45.04 and also won the 100 breaststroke 1:09.47. In addition, Kiel took top honors in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.92, nearly three seconds better than the second-place finisher.
One more Biola punched her ticket to the NAIA Championships as
Bailey Johnson recorded a 5:06.41 in the 400 individual medley to qualify.
The Eagles return to the pool on Saturday (Jan. 22), traveling to Phoenix for a dual meet against Grand Canyon University.
