David Cline has been named the GSAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 9, the conference office announced on Monday.
Cline, who hails from Rogers, Arkansas, came off the bench to score 39 points an lead the Eagles in scoring in a pair of GSAC wins last week. He was 16-of-21 from the field (76.2 percent) and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line in the two victories.
On Tuesday, Cline notched a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds as Biola knocked off The Master's College in Santa Clarita. He followed that with a 17-point, five-rebound performance in a win over San Diego Christian College on Saturday.
Cline is tied for second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.6 points per game despite averaging just over 20 minutes per contest. He is also second in rebounding with 6.3 boards per contest.
Biola is currently 15-1 on the season and riding an eight-game winning streak. The Eagles also sit in second-place in the conference with a 5-1 record. Biola returns to action on Tuesday, January 11, hosting Fresno Pacific University in a GSAC clash at 7:30 p.m. in Chase Gymnasium.
