LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola freshman Jessica Austin weaved through the College of Idaho defense and fired a great shot past the keeper six minutes into overtime to give the Eagles a stunning 2-1 victory over the 20th-ranked Coyotes on Monday afternoon on Al Barbour Field.

Biola improves to 3-2-0 on the season and remains a perfect 3-0 at home while dropping the College of Idaho to 2-2-0 overall.

Austin's goal completed an impressive comeback for the Eagles, who trailed by a goal through much of the game. Jordan Huttash got the 'Yotes on the board first, blocking a clearance attempt by Biola netminder Erin Frushon, deflecting it into the goal for the first score of the game just 16 minutes in.

The Eagles had a number of great chances to score throughout, but was continually turned aside until late in the second half. In the 71st minute, Biola's Ashleigh Cooley found Victoria Dalla Zanna at the top of the box with a nifty pass. Dalla Zanna then lofted a shot over the keeper, who was well off her line, finding the back of the net to tie the match at 1-1.

Both teams had opportunities to win in regulation, but neither could convert, forcing extra time. Biola had the better of play in the extra session as it appeared the Coyotes ran out of gas. The Eagles were able to score on their lone chance in overtime as Austin dribbled around the College of Idaho defense and sent a quick shot past the keeper from about 15 yards away for the match winner. 

It was Austin's first goal of her collegiate career, despite leading the team with 11 shots including five in Monday's contest. Austin had her five shots in just 43 minutes and seemed to create chances at every turn. In the 68th minute, she had a great crack at the goal only to see Coyotes' goalkeeper Melissa Holmes make a great save.

Frushon had a strong match in goal, making five saves and facing 12 shots to pick up the victory. She lowers her goals against average to an impressive 0.61 on the season.
 
Biola faces on final non-conference opponent before opening conference play. The Eagles travel south to take on No. 12 Cal State San Marcos on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. The following Saturday, Biola opens GSAC play at San Diego Christian.
