KANSAS CITY --- Biola forward Rocky Hampton added to an already impressive list of accolades when he was named a 2010 NAIA First-Team All-American on Tuesday, becoming the 14th player to earn All-America honors from Biola and just the fourth to be named to the first-team.

Joining in on the team was senior guard Danny Campbell, who earned NAIA All-America Honorable Mention honors as well.

Hampton was widely regarded as the top big man in the Golden State Athletic Conference and one of the best in the NAIA, averaging 14.9 points and 8.5 rebounds on the season. He also blocked 91 shots (2.6 per game) and added 30 steals. Hampton's block total was fourth in the NAIA and he also ranked 14th in rebounds and 16th in field goal percentage (.582).

Hampton seemed to save his best for last, recording career highs in points and blocks during the Eagles' NAIA Tournament run. In Biola's first-round game against Belhaven (Miss.), the senior blocked seven shots, then followed that up with a 32-point performance in the Eagles' second-round win over Park University (Mo.). For the tournament, he averaged 18.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 blocks as Biola reached the NAIA Quarterfinals for the first time in five years.

"Rocky had a tremendous four-year career and will be greatly missed," said Head Coach Dave Holmquist. "His scoring, rebounding and shot blocking have helped us win quite a few games in his four years here. We will surely miss him."

Hampton finishes his career as the fourth leading scorer all-time at Biola with 1,623 points and tied for fourth on the rebounds list with 1,019 boards. His rebound total was the highest in a career since 1973.

Hampton also became one of just three players to record 1,500 points and have 1,000 rebounds in a career, joining Ron Johnson (1,803 points, 1,460 rebounds) and Dave Dayton (1,604 points, 1,019 rebounds). He also finishes his career with 270 blocks, over 100 more than the next highest total.

Hampton was one of three GSAC representatives on the first-team, joining Azusa Pacific's Dominique Johnson and Concordia's Justin Johnson.

Campbell also joined Hampton as an NAIA All-American, earning honorable mention honors after a strong senior season. Campbell finished the year averaging 12.8 points per game and was a sniper from long-range. The senior connected on 38.8% of his three-point attempts, leading the team with 71 made three-pointers. Both figures were among the top 50 in the NAIA.

Campbell finished his career with 1,140 points good for fifth on Biola's all-time scoring list and was second in three-point field goals made with 203.

Biola closed out its season at 29-6, reaching the NAIA Quarterfinals for the first time since 2004-05.
