FRESNO, Calif. --- Biola picked up a pair of victories in singles, but ultimately fell 7-2 to No. 1-ranked and defending NAIA National Champion Fresno Pacific in a GSAC match on Monday morning.
The Eagles fall to 1-3 on the season and to 0-2 in conference while the Sunbirds improve to 3-0 and 1-0 in conference action.
Biola shocked people a bit with its pair of wins, both coming during the singles competition.
Ryan Adams picked up a straight-set victory over Aaron Frantz at No. 5 singles, winning 6-1, 6-3.
Chris Anderson needed a tiebreaker, but still won 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 at No. 6 singles.
Weston Leopold also had a close match at No. 1 singles against Xavier Smith. After falling 6-1 in the opening set, Leopold came back in the second, making things close before losing 7-5.
Biola returns to the courts on Friday (Feb. 19), traveling to Costa Mesa for a GSAC match against Vanguard University beginning at 2:00 p.m.
