LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Less than 24 hours after pulling out a victory in its first match of the year, Biola returned to the court to face a tough challenge, putting up a strong fight against No. 3-ranked Concordia, but ultimately falling 9-0 in a GSAC match at the Biola Tennis Center on Saturday morning.
BIola drops to 1-1 on the season and to 0-1 in conference play while Concordia improves to 2-0, 1-0 in GSAC.
Pitted against a number of nationally-ranked players, Biola managed to take just six total games in the match, with three of them coming at No. 6 singles.
Mariah Pace put up a strong fight in the second set after falling 6-0 in the first. The freshman rallied back and made things interesting in the second, tying the set at 3-3 before her opponent pulled away to win 6-3.
Biola returns to action on Monday (Feb. 15), traveling up to Fresno to take on Fresno Pacific early Monday morning before heading back.
