LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Senior midfielder Kennedy Chongo, junior goalkeeper Aaron Fenlason and junior defender Cody Shelton have been named to the 2010 All-Golden State Athletic Conference men's soccer team, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Chongo, who hails from Lusaka, Zambia, is widely regarded as one of the craftiest players in the conference. The senior led the team with seven goals and added one assist on the season.

As a testiment to his crafty-ness, Chongo scored one of the most impressive goals of the season in Biola's regular-season finale on Saturday. The senior worked his way through The Master's College defense and fired a shot from between three defenders for the go-ahead goal. It was one of two goals he scored in the game, giving him 21 in his three-year career at Biola.

Fenlason, from Rancho Bernardo, Calif., had another strong season in net for the Eagles, ranking third in the conference with a 0.80 goals against average. Despite allowing just 14 goals in 17 matches, Fenlason had a tough 7-9-1 overall record as seven of Biola's nine losses were by 1-0 scores. 

He made 62 saves and recorded seven shutouts on the season.

Shelton, a junior from Joshua Tree, Calif., was a big part of Biola's dominate defense this season, which surrendered 14 goals in 17 matches this season. Considered one of the GSAC's top defenders, Shelton's ability to stop the best attackers in the conference played a big role in the Eagles allowing the third fewest goals of any GSAC team. 

Shelton had one assist this season, but recorded the second-most minutes played on the squad.

Biola closed out the regular season with a 7-9-1 record and opens the 2010 GSAC playoffs on Wednesday with a trip up to Fresno Pacific University. The quarterfinal  match kicks off at 7:00 p.m.
