MALIBU, Calif. --- Biola produced eight more NAIA National Qualifying times while participating at the Malibu Invitational hosted by Pepperdine University on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles' top finisher was senior Emily Mosbacher, who took fifth in the 50 meter butterfly while senior April Smith finished sixth in the women's 200 meter breaststroke, earning a qualifying time in the event she won at the NAIA Championships last year.

In addition, Biola had eight qualifying times, led by junior Amber Kiel, who punched her ticket in the 200 breaststroke. The Eagles' Britney Rosania also recorded qualifying times in the 100 and 200 butterfly and junior Rachael Sirjord earned a cut time in the 200 freestyle.

On the men's side, Biola picked up its first two NAIA qualifying times as Nathan Roe earned a cut in the 200 freestyle and Chris Stutzman earned national times in the 100 and 200 freestyles.

The Biola dive team headed out to Riverside to participate in the CBU Diving Invitational. Biola had three divers competing in the event. Derek Gutierrez took third place on both boards, finishing with a score of 184.35 on the 1-meter board and 171.90 on the 3-meter board. Austyn Lewis placed fourth on the 1-meter board with a total of 155.25.

On the women's side, Vanessa Joeckel scored 98.95 to place 10th on the 1-meter board.

The Eagles return to the pool on October 30th, facing Azusa Pacific and the University of La Verne in a tri-meet in Azusa.
