LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola goalkeeper
Aaron Fenlason has been named the Golden State Athletic Conference men's soccer defensive player of the week for the week of Sept. 7-13 as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Fenlason, a sophomore from Rachno Bernardo, Calif., faced five shots to help lead Biola to 4-0 win over Soka University on Friday in its only match of the week. The cleansheet was his fifth-straight to start the season as he has now amassed an impressive 450 minute shutout minutes in 2009. The streak is the longest such streak top open a season in the program's 49-year history.
This is the second time this season Fenlason has earned the honor as he was named the defensive player of the week two weeks ago as well.
Biola is 5-0-0 on the season and opens GSAC play on Saturday (Sept. 26), hosting San Diego Christian College at 4:30 p.m. on Al Barbour Field.
