BOX SCORE

LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Four different players found the back of the net as Biola cruised to an easy 4-0 win over Soka University in a non-conference match on Friday night.

The Eagles continue their hot start to the season, moving to 5-0-0 with their fifth-straight shutout. The Lions fall to 1-4-1 overall.

Biola's defense was rock solid as sophomore netminder Aaron Fenlason faced just five shots on the evening with none on goal. He preserved his fifth cleansheet of the season, a scoreless streak of 450 minutes. The streak continues to be the longest in school history to open a season.

The Eagles wasted no time getting on the board, scoring two goals in the first nine minutes of the match. Junior Jared Fenlason helped his brother out by scoring in the fifth minute, collecting a nice pass from Humberto Toscan off a corner to put Biola up 1-0.

Just over four minutes later, sophomore Cody Shelton took advantage of a failed clearance in front of the net, banging home the loose ball for his first goal of the season.

Biola would add another in the 22nd minute as sophomore Tony Montalvo's blast from 20 yards out scooted under the goalkeeper to make it a three-goal game.

The Eagles would close out the scoring in the second half as junior Phillip Friehe scored on a scramble in the front of the net in the 72nd minute.

Biola continued its offensive explosion, scoring four goals to bring its season tally to 22 through five matches this season. Shelton and Montalvo's goals were the first of their first this season, giving the Eagles 11 different goal scorers.

Biola returns to the pitch on Saturday, September 26, opening GSAC play against San Diego Christian College. The match is set to kick-off at 4:30 p.m. with the women's GSAC-opener against the Hawks to follow.
