WHITTIER, Calif. --- Biola secured its first victory of the season with an 8-1 win over cross-town foe Whittier College in a non-conference match on Friday in Whittier. The Eagles improve to 1-4 overall.

Biola picked up a big pair of wins at doubles as Christine Garner and Joelle Tanaka secured a tiebreaker win at No. 1 doubles. That was followed by a relatively easy 8-1 win by Brea Roth and Nicholle Johnston at No. 2 doubles, but the Eagles fell in a tiebreaker at No. 3.

The Eagles then swept all six matches at singles to wrap up the victory.
