The Eagles move to 8-0 in the season with the victory while handing the Poets their first loss which drops them to 4-1 on the season.

Hampton led Biola for the third-straight game, lighting up Whittier for 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, adding 14 rebounds and three blocks. Seven of his rebounds came on the offensive glass, matching the output by the entire Poets' squad.

Miller had 16 points and six rebounds, connecting on 7-of-12 from the field in 26 minutes. Danny Campbell recorded 11 points, three assists, two steals and four rebounds on the night. Marlon King and Andrew Schroeder each contributed 10 points, with King adding six assists and three steals.

Biola led from start to finish, opening up the game with a 12-0 lead. The Eagles kept up the attack and took a 16-point lead to the half with a 40-24 advantage.

However, the Poets responded with a big second half, closing the gap to eight at 60-52 with 7:38 to go. Whitter would be unable to get closer than eight as the Eagles were able to convert free throws down the stretch and hold on for an 11-point victory.
