Tim Worrell was a strikeout master. He excelled on the mound at Biola and during his 14 seasons playing Major League Baseball. Worrell played for the Eagles from 1986-1989, and in his final season he finished seventh in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics with 10.65 strikeouts per game. In that same season he went 9-5 with a 3.48 ERA, racking up 110 strikeouts along the way. After his career at Biola, Worrell was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 20th round. He played for nine different teams over his 14 seasons, experiencing his most success in 2003 with the San Francisco Giants when he finished fourth in the National League with 35 saves. Worrell joins his brother Todd in the Eagles’ Hall of Fame; Todd was inducted in 2012’s inaugural class.
