Jim Blagg was a pioneer for the Biola wrestling program in the mid-1970s. He compiled an overall record of 114-24-2 in matches between 1974-78.Not only did he dominate the other competition, but he led the program at Biola as well, being named Biola Most Valuable Player in each of his four seasons. In 1978 he won the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics national championship for the 190-pound weight class. He is the only national champion in Biola wrestling history. In addition to the championship, Blagg was a NAIA All-American in two years and he holds the school record for individual wins in a season (40).
