• Had yet to appear in a meet before the season was canceled due to COVID-19 outbreak

2019
• Appeared in 13 meets during his first season with the Eagles
• Earned Academic All-PacWest honors
• Part of Biola's NCCAA Championship competition team
• Earned All-PacWest honors with a second-place finish in the 800m, setting his collegiate-best at 1:54.19
• Nearly added all-conference marks in the 4x400m relay as well, finishing fourth (3:21.65)
• Earned NCCAA All-American honors in both the 800m (2nd - 1:56.13) and 4x800m relay (3rd - 7:53.46)

HIGH SCHOOL
• Prepped three varsity years at Marina HS in Huntington Beach, Calif., graduating in 2018
• Inducted into Marina's hall of fame for both cross country and track
• Captained a Viking Cross Country team that placed second in the Sunset League in 2017 and qualified for CIF
• Ran the 800m in 1:56:37 in 2018 for the second-fastest time in the league that year and the sixth fastest at Marina all-time.
• Graduated Magna Cum Laude and AP Scholar with distinction
• Also played varsity soccer for the Vikings

PERSONAL
• Born December 18, 2000 to Ryan and Jennifer Sutherland
• Has five younger siblings (Lily, Hannah, Zach, Eli and Caleb)
• He enjoys playing piano
• Majoring in kinesiology to become a sports physical therapist
• Favorite Bible Verse: Philippians 1:21
• Why I Chose Biola: "I chose Biola because of the encouraging atmosphere it offered to grow spiritually, athletically, and academically."
