CARSON, Calif. --- Biola picked up its first win of the 2026 season Thursday night, defeating Cal State Dominguez Hills 2-0 on the road at Toro Stadium.
Riley Brumfield opened the scoring in the 13th minute, and Hayden Gehring added an insurance goal in the 85th minute to seal the result. Laura Brennan and Sami Robinson split time turning in a clean sheet.
Brumfield's goal came just past the 12-minute mark to put Biola ahead 1-0, a lead the Eagles would carry into halftime. Biola created several chances in the opening half, putting five shots on goal.
Cal State Dominguez Hills pushed for an equalizer after the break, but the Eagles' defense kept the Toros off the scoreboard. Robinson made both of her saves in the second half, preserving Biola's advantage as the match entered its final minutes.
Gehring put the result out of reach late, finding the back of the net in the 84th minute to give the Eagles a 2-0 cushion. The goal marked Gehring's first of the season.
Taylin Laws, Gissel Fang, Belen Cognetta and Taylor Bradshaw all played the full 90 minutes in the shutout.
The Eagles finished with seven shots, including three on target, while holding Dominguez Hills to six shots and two on frame.

Biola improves to 1-2-0 on the season. The Eagles will play their final road game against Fresno Pacific on Saturday, September 5th at 4:30 p.m. before returning home to Al Barbour Field.
