Eagles Fall in Road Opener

Biola battles after an early deficit but cannot overcome two first-half goals against Cal Poly Pomona

POMONA, Calif. --- The Biola men's soccer team opened their regular season on the road against CCAA opponent Cal Poly Pomona. The Eagles dropped their first road game, 2-0 in full time.

The Broncos were on the board early, scoring their two goals in the opening 12 minutes. 

Biola was limited to only five shots, all coming in the second half. Kyle Denn and Ryan Ellsworth both put shots on frame but were turned away by Cal Poly goalkeeper. Ivan Moore and Jeremy Larson also got looks on goal.

Ethan Kell played all 90 minutes between posts and recorded one save. Daniel Celis and Ethan Michael also played a full 90.

The Eagles will continue their stretch on the road, facing Cal State San Marcos on August 29th at 11:30 a.m.
