LA MIRADA---The Biola softball team run-ruled Hawaii Pacific 10-0 in the first game of the day's doubleheader at Freedom Field.
After a scoreless three-inning start, the Eagles came alive in the fourth. Lillianna Garcia opened the scoring with a solo home run to left field and Ariana Banos launched a two-run homer to center field to extend the lead to 3–0. Kennadie Tsue also scored on Banos' home run, singling to left to get on base.
The Eagles continued the rally as Madeline Granados tripled down the right-field line and later scored. Alexa Sheard added an RBI on a fielder's choice before Garcia delivered again with a two-run single to cap the six-run inning and give Biola a 6–0 advantage.
Biola added four more runs in the sixth inning to secure the mercy-rule victory. Alexa Medley Sheard reached on a bunt single and moved into scoring position after stealing second. Reyna Hernandez was hit by a pitch and Garcia walked to load the bases. Grace Harrison then cashed in a run on a fielder's choice before Cami Lara delivered a three-RBI double to right center, extending the Eagles' lead to 10–0.
In the circle, DJ Symons was dominant for the Eagles. She pitched a complete-game shutout, allowing five hits while striking out six over six innings.
The Eagles finished with 11 hits in the game. Garcia led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Lara added three RBIs of her own. Banos also contributed with two RBIs on her home run.
