LA MIRADA---The Biola women's tennis team improved to a four-game winning streak with their 6-1 victory over Western New Mexico at the Biola Tennis Center.
The Eagles had a strong start, securing the doubles point. Dafne Andres and Ivet Stancheva won 6-1 on the first court and Cassie Donar and Alexis Romano won 6-2 on the third court. Donar and Romano lead Biola's women's doubles teams with a 4-0 overall record.
All of BU's wins in singles were two-set victories. On the first court, Kailee Mazzeo won 6-4, 6-3. Alessia Radu recorded a 6-0, 6-2 victory on the third court. Andres and Yeo Kyung Kim earned 6-1, 6-1 wins. Andres on the fourth court and Kim on the sixth.
Biola's final triumph came from Isabelle Karam on the fifth court, she won 6-3, 6-2.
Stancheva lost a battle on the second court. She split her first two sets 6-1, 2-6 and then lost the super set 9-11.
Biola improves 8-3 overall. The Eagles play next on Monday, March 16 against Colorado Mesa.
