Trio Takes Over as Eagles Roll Past Stanton

Biola’s depth shines with every player contributing to the scoring column

LA MIRADA --- The Biola men's basketball team defeated the visiting Stanton Elks on Friday night in Chase Gymnasium by a final score of 89-66. Every Eagle who checked in reached the scoring column, but it was the trio of Tyus Parrish-Tillman, Chris Harris and Facundo Aranda that powered the victory, combining for 50 points and controlling both ends of the floor.

Biola was quick to get ahead opening the night on a 20-7 run over the first eight minutes, featuring four three points and two thunderous dunks. Parrish-Tillman would add 10 more after the Elks were forced to call a timeout. Jalen Atkins collected his first collegiate points off a dime from Parrish-Tillman. The Eagles forced seven turnovers and swiped four steals in the first half alone.

The second was continued dominance for Biola scoring 50 points on 65% from the floor and 38% from three. Harris, Aranda and Parrish-Tillman combined for 24 of the 50 while the depth of BU added 26. Aranda was everywhere for Biola, logging a career-high seven steals. Mikah Tolpezninkas, Cole Bekkering, and Logan Stewart all logged their first career collegiate points, adding to the high energy inside Chase Gym.

With the win, the Eagles improve to 3-1 overall.

Biola will take on Cal Poly Pomona next Saturday, Nov. 29 at 4 p.m. in Chase Gymnasium.
