Starters Steer the Way

Parrish-Tillman, Brown and a complete starting-unit effort power Biola to an 86–80 road win at Dominguez Hills

Carson, Calif. --- The Biola men's basketball team took on Cal State Dominguez Hills Toros in the Torodome on Tuesday night. The Eagles escaped with a win, 86-80.

Tyus Parrish-Tillman and Cameron Brown anchored the Eagle offense, combining for 46 points and 11 rebounds. Chris Harris put together a complete performance for Biola with 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, four steals and a block. Charlie Gehler chipped in 13 hitting three threes for BU. As a team, the Eagles shot 54% from the floor and 50% from three. 

In the first half, Biola showed a balanced offensive presence. They scored 32 points in the paint and capitalized off the Toro's mistakes, scoring 18 points off turnovers. Harris set the pace for Biola with 11 points while Parrish-Tillman and Brown followed closely with nine and eight points respectively. Facundo Aranda stayed consistent, scoring seven while Charlie Gehler added five. The Eagles caused three steals and only turned the ball over twice. 

The second half was a mirror image of the first. The Eagles continued to win points in the paint and hit timely threes. Brown and Parrish-Tillman combined for 29 points, 13 of them coming from the charity stripe. The consistent and steady scoring from all five starters secured the Eagles second win of the season. 

The Eagles (2-1) will be back in Chase Gymnasium on Friday to take on the Stanton Elks (1-6).
