LA MIRADA --- A new season is underway for Biola men's basketball and high hopes are not far behind. A talented roster added depth with six newcomers, joining Head Coach Dave Holmquist's squad for the 2024-25 year.

Holmquist is entering his 45th season as Biola's head coach, maintaining 1,058 career wins before the start of the new campaign.

The 2024-25 squad adds an incoming class of six players with three freshmen and three graduate transfers. The group all hails from California and brings a diverse wealth of experience and talent to an already loaded BU team.

"These players are part of a good incoming class," said Holmquist. "They will join with our many returning players to form a highly competitive team. Although we are not as big as some past Biola teams, we have a very skilled and hard working group that should perform well throughout the season." 

Davian Brown 
Coach Holmquist - "Davian is a well-rounded guard who passes, shoots, and defends well. Davian will be an excellent player and leader this year.  He has already had a fine college career and will bring an abundance of talent and experience to the Biola program."

Julien Franklin 
Coach Holmquist - "Julien is a Division I transfer. Julien is a good athlete who can score in a variety of ways. His athleticism and work ethic allow him to be proficient at both ends of the court. He will help us in many ways this year."

Brendan Mora 
Coach Holmquist - "Brendan had a very fine career at Pomona College and won the Conference Most Valuable Player Award. He has a history of being an excellent scorer and rebounder."

Chris Harris 
Coach Holmquist - "Chris is a fine athlete who can both shoot well and drive to the basket. He has the potential to be a well-rounded college player who can make meaningful contributions on both offense and defense."

Jet Pokossy 
Coach Holmquist - "Jet has great length, plays hard, and moves well for a player his size, and has great potential as a defensive player. As his offensive skills improve, he will move in the direction of becoming a fine college player."

Mikah Tolpezninkas
Coach Holmquist - "Mikah is a hard working guard who had a successful high school career.  As his skills continue to improve, he will be able to compete for playing time. He has already shown himself to be an excellent teammate during our practice sessions."
