BU Triumphs in Exhibition

Biola gave a preseason fight to The Master’s, claiming a 82-77 win on the road.

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. --- It came down to the clutch moments but the Eagles came through in the crucial time. Biola was victorious in an exhibition match against The Master's on Saturday night with a 82-77 victory.

Despite the Eagles holding the lead throughout the majority of the contest, the Mustangs moved in close. With under two minutes to go, the two teams locked up on the scoreboard at 74.

A huge defensive stop followed for BU and the team immediately pushed up the court. Nathan Medina took the ball and attacked middle, finishing a floater near the rim. The go-ahead bucket set up Biola free throws to seal the win.

BU never trailed on Saturday and offered its best lead in the first half with a 13-point advantage at 44-31.

Casey Cappo was the offensive threat for Biola, recording 24 points in the win. The junior went 50.0 percent from the field, hitting 10 shots with one three-pointer. He also paced the squad with seven rebounds. The second half was Cappo's feasting ground, as he nabbed 15 points in the final 20 minutes.

Medina (16), Erik Howlin (13), and Maximo Milovich (13) all reached the double-digit scoring threshold, as well.

Biola will begin the regular season with the PacWest/CCAA Crossover Tournament on Friday and Saturday November 10 and 11.
