Thankful for Team

Before breaking into the turkey, the Eagles grabbed a win on Wednesday night inside Chase Gymnasium.

LA MIRADA --- Five starters resulted with five Eagles with double figures in scoring, helping Biola to a big win on Wednesday, before Thanksgiving. BU (4-2) was victorious in a 82-54 final score over SAGU American Indian College (0-5).

The Eagles showed they are truly back on track, picking up their second-straight triumph on Wednesday night. Biola took care of business with its third 20-point win of the 2022 season.

A 17-2 run was the first major rally for the Eagles, opening up a 21-11 lead for the host squad. Alex Wright posted eight points in the run, while the team as a whole scored on eight-straight possessions without a missed shot attempt.

Some ebb and flow followed before Biola bolstered its lead before the half. BU maxed its advantage at 15 and entered halftime up, 40-29.

The visiting Warriors responded in the second half and surged back into the game. SAGU IAC brought its deficit to single digits, cutting into the Biola lead by 10 points.

Caught on their backfoot, the Eagles looked to bounce back. Over nine and a half minutes, BU put together a stretch that would secure the game for the Eagles.

The run was marked by 8-15 shooting and no three-pointers from BU. The team piled on 25 points, while holding the Warriors to five. The opposition was unable to get momentum on offense, scoring just five points on 1-16 shooting from the field.

The impressive finish pushed the Eagles to a 82-54 final margin.

All five BU starters reached double-digits in the scoring column on Wednesday night. The game-high in points came from Maximo Milovich. The third-year player piled on 22 points to make for his career-best, scoring on nine field goals and tallying a double-double with 15 rebounds.

Biola will have a week off before its next contest, returning to conference play on December 1 on the road at Fresno Pacific at 7:30 pm.
