WAHIAWA, Hawaii --- The success of every volleyball team generally revolves around its strength up the middle. Biola Volleyball added to that strength for 2017 with the addition of middle blocker Sara Docktor.
 
Docktor commits to the team after three and a half years of varsity volleyball at Leilehua High School in Hawaii. Docktor earned all-league first team honors as a junior and senior and was an all-league honorable mention in both volleyball and basketball as a sophomore.
 
"Sara has been such a blessing to get to know over the past few months. She came to us very late in the process and frankly we could not be more excited to have her," said Head Coach Aaron Seltzer. "She will be our first player during my time here at Biola to be from Hawaii and she could not be a better fit.   All of us were impressed with her skill set on the court and we are excited that she will spending the next four years with us."
 
During her time in high school she was able to play left side, right side, middle and a little bit of back row. She was the team's starting middle blocker for her last three seasons and earned local media's player of the game honors during her final two seasons.
 
When she's not studying, volunteering at community service events like beach cleanups or playing volleyball, Docktor loves spending time with her family and going to the beach.
 
"I love [Biola's] Christian environment and could really see it as a great fit for me," said Docktor. "I've always wanted to go to a Christian university."
 
Docktor will be on the court and in the classroom for the Eagles this fall. She plans to study psychology and wishes to be a social worker after graduation.
