WINTON, Calif.—Head Coach Aaron Seltzer and the Biola Eagles volleyball team are excited to announce the signing of Hannah van Warmerdam. Van Warmerdam, an outside hitter, arrived on campus in the spring of 2016.
 
She is a transfer student-athlete who spent the last season playing for the Islanders of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the Southland conference.
 
She appeared in 11 matches for the Islanders and recorded nearly two kills-per-set while posting a hitting percentage of .206.
 
Coach Seltzer is excited to have her on the team and contribute.
 
"Hannah is super athletic, super springy and has a great arm on her," said Seltzer. "She came in this spring and worked hard. The girls loved her. She clearly thinks she's funnier than she really is, but she actually is funny. She really has a heart for people and is a great fit for us."
 
Van Warmerdam went to Atwater High School where she saw tremendous success early and often on the court. She was a four-year varsity member and right away made a huge impact earning herself an all-league second team selection and was voted best defensive player.
 
Over the next three years she earned all-league first team honors while being named MVP and Sportswoman of the Year. She feels she will be a great fit for the Eagles program.
 
"I chose Biola because of the competitive volleyball team and the great environment," said van Warmerdam.
 
She was an excellent student as well as she was academic all-conference all four years in high school.
