ALPINE, Calif.—The Biola Volleyball team has added some in-state talent to its 2016 recruiting class. Alyx Dunham of Alpine will make her way to La Mirada and join the Eagles on the court this fall.
 
Dunham is an outside hitter who attended Christian High School and was a member of its varsity squad for all four years. She saw great success being named team captain in her junior and senior year, earning all-league first team honors three times and she was also voted MVP.
 
"Alyx is probably one of the sweetest girls I have ever met during the recruiting process," said Head Coach Aaron Seltzer. "She is really bright and is a very intelligent player. She is going to be a very good fit from the standpoint that she has a heart for the lord and a heart for people. Add all that to the fact that she is 6-foot-2-inches tall, strong, athletic and has long arms and she's a great fit."
 
Not only was Dunham a leader on the court throughout high school, but she was a leader in the classroom as well. She graduated with honors, earned the distinguished student award and was named to the honor roll in every semester she attended. She is determined this success will translate in to college.
 
"I chose Biola because of the Christian environment and the athletic excellence," said Dunham.
 
At Biola, Dunham intends to major in business. She hopes to one day work for a non-profit organization.
