YORBA LINDA, Calif. --- Just about everything a volleyball team can do on the floor is dependent upon its setter. Head Coach Aaron Seltzer brought in a good one when he added a transfer, Brinley Beresford, to his 2016-17 roster.
 
Beresford joins the Eagles after playing one season at NCAA Division II Regis University. She was asked to do a little bit of everything for the Rangers as she accumulated nearly 1,000 assists, 200+ digs, 60+ blocks and 60+ kills in a standout season. She also earned scholar-athlete honors during her first collegiate season.
 
"We are very impressed with Brinley," said Seltzer. "She is really skilled and knows the game well. She thinks through things very well and I think we are going to really enjoy her ability to set a good offense."
 
Prior to her time at Regis Beresford attended Esperanza High School in Anaheim and was a three-time varsity letter for the Aztecs. During those three years she managed to earn all-league first team honors, All-CIF second team honors and served as captain three times.
 
She was also recognized as a scholar-athlete and distinguished scholar during her high school career and earned the creative arts award.
 
"She's a great kid with a great heart for the Lord and will fit very well with our kids," said Seltzer. "I think the school fits well for her and she's a local product so we're really excited."
 
Brinley will begin her time at Biola this Fall and plans to major in biology/pre-Med. She hopes to enter med school after graduation and become an orthopedic surgeon who works with Doctors Across Borders.
 
"I came to Biola because I wanted a Christ-centered campus with a solid athletic program," said Beresford.
