Houser Brings Quickness & Athleticism To Eagles' Back Row

Head Coach Aaron Seltzer adds Anna Houser to his very large incoming 2016 class.

EUGENE, Ore. --- As Biola continues to restock its back row the addition of Anna Houser adds some excitement for the 2016 season.

"We're excited about her," said Head Coach Aaron Seltzer. "She's a great kid, she works hard and has a big heart. She is going to fit well with the girls."

Houser joins the Eagles after a fantastic career at Marist High School in her hometown of Eugene, Oregon. Houser was the team captain and team MVP for the Spartans during her junior and senior seasons.

"Anna is going to be one of the quickest girls we have ever had play," said Seltzer. "That is helpful. I've never seen anyone run down balls like she can."

She also earned all-league first team during those same two seasons and made the all-state tournament first team during her senior season. Over the course of her time at Marist she also earned all-state second team honors.

Houser led the Spartans to a 41-10-1 overall record and 23-2 league record during her two seasons as captain. Her team was ranked by MaxPreps as the No. 15 overall volleyball program in Oregon during the 2015 season.

When she joins the Eagles this fall she plans to major in nursing and eventually enter a career as a pediatric nurse. She's a solid student who earned first in merit in algebra honors.

"I chose Biola because I wanted a school that was centered around God, and I also wanted to be able to play volleyball," said Houser.
