ORANGE, Calif. --- Biola Men's Soccer bolstered its midfield with the addition of Hernan Sotelo. Sotelo transfers to the Eagles following one season at Santiago Canyon College.
 
"Despite being hampered with a mid-season injury, he was still able to contribute to his Santiago Canyon team's 14-5-2 record this fall," said Head Coach Todd Elkins. "He is determined and hard working on both sides of the ball. He will find a way to help his team."
 
Sotelo is a local product, earning all-league honors each year in three seasons at Sunny Hills High School before his year with the Hawks.
 
As a senior he was the team MVP, named to the DII All-Star Team and added All-CIF honors to his resume. He also served as team captain during his last two seasons with the Lancers.
 
During his junior season Sotelo earned North OC Summer Soccer Tournament MVP honors and was named the Orange County Athlete of the Week once.
 
Sotelo will look to make an impact right away for Elkins as he finishes his final three seasons of eligibility at Biola.
 
He begins classes in the fall and plans to major in criminology with hopes of a career as a police officer, CIA agent or investigator.
