Taylor Casey grabs 16 rebounds and finds them a date with 19 points in a big Valentine’s Day win over HIU.

Annie Park posted her 12th double-digit scoring output of the season on Saturday night.
Box Score FULLERTON, Calif. --- With both teams struggling shooting and causing turnovers all over the court, Biola was able to be just the little bit better that it needed to be to get a big win over (RV) Hope International, 60-53.

After finally taking a slim lead, the Eagles still had to hold onto it for 10 long minutes to come away with the win. Points were at a premium down the stretch, just as they were all game, with neither team able to connect offensively, and so with three minutes left the Eagles still held onto just a three-point lead after Khadidja Diakite knocked down one of her two free throws. The Eagles got a huge stop on the next possession only for DeMoria White to commit an offensive foul on the ensuing possession.

However, the Eagles' defense, which held the Royals to just 30 percent from the field and just one three-point make, came up huge again with Taylor Casey corralling her 16th rebound after an errant shot from HIU's best big, Emily Terwilliger. Annie Park would then weave through the defense and finish over the thick of the Royals' defense for the biggest basket of her 17 points on the night. A turnover by Hope International followed and Biola was able to ice the game at the line to secure the win.

The late game heroics of Park and Casey came as no surprise. The two played magnificently all game. Casey dominated all night in her best game of the season, throwing up a preposterous 19 points to go with her 16 boards, including nine offensive rebounds and earning 15 attempts at the free throw line. Both numbers set career-highs for the junior transfer in her first year with the Eagles, and her trips to the foul line are a team-high on the
season. Meanwhile, Park collected her third double-digit scoring game of the last four outings, her 12th of the season.

The win puts the Eagles at 15-11 for the season and guarantees Biola will finish with a regular season winning percentage of .500 or higher for the first time since the 2011-12 season. The win is also their second in a row after a disappointing stretch that saw the hot-starting Eagles drop four in a row and five out of six.

With four games left to play, including two at home where the Eagles have already notched 10 wins this season, they have a chance to regain some momentum heading into the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament. Biola basketball returns to Chase Gymnasium Tuesday when it hosts GSAC-leading No. 8 Concordia (19-4, 12-1).
