Bellevue, Wash. – Andi Hormel recently committed to join the Biola softball program and has the ability to fill some pretty big shoes.
 
Hormel plays shortstop and was named All-King County League first team player multiple times, and she won both Silver Slugger and Gold Glove awards on her team.
 
"I chose Biola for a solid Christian education, great campus life, and the chance to play college softball with my sister Kasey," said Hormel.
 
Hormel followed in her older sister's footsteps by playing her high school ball as Sammamish High School. She serves as captain for the Totems and finishes her high school career this spring.
 
She will join her sister and the rest of the Biola softball team in the fall of 2015 with intentions of being a business major.
 
"Washington will have a few more rainy days when Andi leaves for California, because she is true sunshine," said Head Coach Lorie Coleman. "She has some big shoes to fill at shortstop, but I feel her skill level is so legit that it will be an easy transition for her in her freshman year."
