SAN DIEGO, Calif. --- Hailey Boyett recently committed to join the Biola softball program, and the San Diego, California native brings a winning mentality with her.
 
As an infielder, Boyett helped guide the Horizon Christian Academy Panthers to a Division V CIF-SDS Championship in 2013. Every year of her high school career, she's been selected to the All-Coastal League first team and been voted the team MVP.
 
She also captained the team in her junior season and earned the 2012 and 2013 CIF-SDS Sportsmanship Award.
 
"I chose Biola, first of all because it is a Christian school," said Boyett. "The softball coaches are amazing and the team reminded me of a family atmosphere. I can't imagine going anywhere else for school."
 
Boyett's talents extend to the classroom as well, as she made the Union Tribune San Diego All-Academic team and sports a 4.29 cumulative grade point average. She's been a member of the honor roll and principal's list all three year's of her high school career.
 
 "Hailey is what we call the full package – she has great defense, she is a power hitter and a perfect Biola fit," said Head Coach Lorie Coleman. "We are very blessed to have her as a part of our program."
 
Boyett joins the Biola team in the 2016 season. She plans to major in sociology and hopes to become a social worker.
