LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola freshman catcher Bria Madrid was honored on Thursday as the lone freshman representative on the 13-member 2013 All-Golden State Athletic Conference team as selected by the conference coaches.

Madrid had an impressive freshman campaign, ranking in the top 15 and second on the team with a .287 batting average. She led the team with 30 RBIs, three home runs and also added 37 hits, 24 runs, three doubles and two triples.

Madrid played solid behind the plate, throwing out 11 base runners and picking off seven others. She also committed just one error in 142 chances.

Biola closed out the regular season with an impressive run through the GSAC/CalPac NAIA Qualifier Tournament, reaching the semifinals before falling 1-0. The Eagles were 25-28 on the season.
