Biola Opens Tucson Invitational with Three Wins

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 TUCSON, Ariz. --- Sophomore Sarah Enriquez picked up three wins and struck out 26 batters while pitching 19 innings to lead Biola to a sweep of three games on the first day of the Tucson Invitational on Friday.

The Eagles (7-12) opened the day with a 7-0 win over Concordia (Minn.), followed by a 9-1 win in six innings over Trinity International and closed up shop with a 6-3 victory over Madonna University (Mich.). 

Enriguez started two of the games and came on in relief against Trinity International. She held Concordia to just one hit over seven innings, striking out 12 in the 7-0 win. Brooke Madrid was the start offensively going 3-for-4 while Mackenzie Magro added a pair of RBIs.

In the second game, Trinity International scored an early run against Biola, but Enriquez came on in relief, striking out eight over the next five innings to earn her second win of the day. Bria Madrid went 3-for-4 in the contest with 3 RBIs.

Biola closed out the day with a good game against Madonna (Mich.), winning 6-3. Heather Hall went 4-for-4 in the game with three doubles and two RBIs. Enriquez had her scoreless streak come to an end, allowing three runs, but strikingout six to get the win.

Biola faces off against Sienna Heights (Mich.), the University of Great Falls (Mont.) and Aquinas (Mich.) on Saturday before heading back to La Mirada.
