Biola sweeps Hope International to sweep the season series and improve to 19-2.

Jaci Schork shined on defense and as a server on Saturday and led the Eagles to a sweep of HIU.
Box Score FULLERTON, Calif. --- Biola took its shortest road trip of the season to take on Hope International in downtown Fullerton on Saturday night. The Eagles came out strong, fending off the Royals in a tight first set, and got the 3-0 sweep (25-23, 25-14, 25-22).

"Lauren (Hoenecke) played very, very well tonight, and I though Jaci (Schork) was solid as well," said Head Coach Aaron Seltzer.

Hoenecke played in two sets for the Eagles and picked up five kills without committing a single attack error.  She hit .417, her highest total of the season for game when she had multiple kills. Her hitting percentage was tied with Amy Weststeyn for the best of the match among those with five or more kills. She also had the kill that ended the match for No. 3 Biola.

Weststeyn tied for the most kills in the match with 12, and she added five block assists to continue her trek up the Biola block record books.

Schork entered the game and enhanced BU's defense, picking up five digs in her three sets played. She also added a service ace to help on the offensive front where she could.

Hope International came out and played well in front of their home crowd, keeping the game much closer than it was the last time these two teas met, at the end of September.

Nikki Bradbury had much to do with that, picking up 12 kills for the Royals and leading the squad with a .292 attack percentage.

Despite the stronger performance by HIU, it was clear throughout the Eagles were the better team on the court as they had the ability to sustain a high level of play throughout long volleys that eventually forced the Royals to error and won BU the point. The Eagles had just 14 error in their attack, as opposed to HIU's 18. The Royals did, however, manage to go the entire first set without a single error.

Gracee Gallarda and Nicolette Douglas split time as the setter for Biola, and each turned in a solid performance as they combined for 36 assists on the Eagles' 44 kills.

The win moves Biola to 19-2 (9-2 GSAC) and sees the Royals drop to 5-18 (1-9 GSAC).

Biola continues to wind down their Golden State Athletic Conference season with a road match against Arizona Christian on Tuesday night.
