Inconsistent play leads to a 2-0 loss for No. 22 Biola who will go back to the drawing board.

Biola led in offensive chances and drew more fouls, but could not get past the difficult defensive approach of The Master's.
Box Score LA MIRADA, Calif. --- The Master's College got the better of Biola on Tuesday night in a conference opener where BU's women's squad seemed to only show glimpses of their potential throughout the 90 minutes.

The No. 12 Mustangs improve to 9-0-0 after defeating the Eagles 2-0 in both team's Golden State Athletic Conference opener. The loss drops No. 22 Biola to 6-3-0 on the season and marks the team's first home loss since last Oct. 13.

"Hats off to The Master's," said Head Coach Todd Elkins. "Their chances went in and ours didn't, it's that simple."

While Biola was able to get the majority of the scoring chances, outshooting the Mustangs 15-11, the Eagles failed to convert and demonstrated an inability to set up quality chances throughout the game.

The Master's made the most of their offensive opportunities, scoring twice on just four shots on goal.

The Mustangs first scored in the 49th minute off of a shot that deflected into the goal after hitting a BU defender.

"It was a decent hit on the deflection goal, but it is disappointing that we didn't defend that better," said Elkins. "It should have been a block instead of just a deflection."

The next goal came nearly 40 minutes later as Jasmine Benson scored to put away any hope of a comeback by Biola. TMC gained possession of the ball after a protested non-call on what could have been a handball against The Mustangs, and after a ball was deflected for a corner kick, Benson knocked in her fifth goal of the season.

The Eagles were unable to mount any sort of rally in the remaining five minutes, and ended up getting shutout for the second time this season.

"We did not deserve a win today, we did not posses the ball nearly enough, and we only showed glimpses of our playing style," said Elkins. "The coaches and players need to go back to the drawing board and fix some things for the next time out."

Biola next hits the pitch on Saturday at 7 p.m. in a home game against No. 18 Concordia (5-0-2).
