Box Score SANTA BARBARA, Calif. --- Biola struggled in the first half and could not muster enough for a second-half comeback, falling 78-51 to No. 12 Westmont in the GSAC opener for both teams on Tuesday night at Murchison Gymnasium.

The Eagles see their two-game winning-streak come to an end as they fall to 9-7 overall and to 0-1 in GSAC play. The Warriors improve to 10-3 and to 1-0 in the conference.

Adijat Adams led Biola with 20 points in the game, scoring 16 points in the second half. She was hampered by foul trouble in the first half, scoring just four points in five minutes before having to sit out the rest of the half. In the second, she scored 16 points and hit 12-of-15 from the free throw line.

Aubree Mittel added nine points for Biola--all from beyond the three-point line, adding three steals and two rebounds. Chelsea Hill added eight points, four assists and four rebounds for the Eagles.

Biola hit the first bucket of the game just five seconds into the contest to take a quick 2-0 lead thanks to a bucket by Adams. After five-straight by the Warriors, Adams hit another bucket to make it 5-4 two minutes in.

But the Eagles' offense went cold after that as Westmont would go on a 27-4 run over the next 13 minutes to take a commanding 32-8 lead. Biola would head to the locker room down 39-13 at the end of the first half.

In the second half, the Eagles used a 10-1 run over the first few minutes of the half to cut the lead to 17 at 44-27. But the Warriors started to pull away again and led by as many as 29 over the rest of the way, winning 78-51.

Biola shot well in the second half, hitting 11-of-27 from the field for 40.7 percent including going 3-of-7 from three-point range. However, the Eagles hit just 5-of-27 in the first half for 18.5 percent. Westmont shot 57 percent in the game and hit 62.5 percent (15-of-24) in the second half.

Kelsie Sampson led Westmont with 18 points while Tugce Canitez added 17 points.

Biola looks to rebound on Saturday, returning home to face No. 2 Vanguard in a GSAC clash beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Chase Gymnasium.
