Lorie Coleman released her 2013 softball schedule which features 11 home dates, three tournaments and the dedication of the updated Freedom Field.
Work on Freedom Field is nearly complete with dedication ceremonies taking place on Monday, January 28, at 2:00 p.m. The first competition on the new field will begin the following Saturday as the annual Alumni Game takes place beginning at 12:00 p.m.
The Eagles open the season on the road, traveling north to face William Jessup University in a season-opening doubleheader in Rocklin on Thursday, Feb. 7. Biola then continues north for the Simpson University Tournament in Redding, playing six games over two days on Feb. 8-9.
After returning home for a doubleheader at La Sierra University on Friday, Feb. 15, Biola hosts its first home doubleheader at the remodeled field, facing NAIA Preseason No. 1 Cal State San Marcos on Saturday, Feb. 16, at 12:00 p.m.
The month of March will be a busy one for the Eagles, who have games on 11 days including eight home doubleheaders. Highlighted in the mix is the start of GSAC play, which begins with Biola playing at Vanguard on March 12. The Eagles then return home to face defending conference champion Concordia on Mar. 19.
Biola closes out the 2013 regular season at home against GSAC newcomer Arizona Christian University on April 20, hosting senior festivities and welcoming back former Eagle Kacie Lyding, who is now the Interim Head Coach for the first-year program.
