Adijat Adams
Box Score LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Adijat Adams scored 22 points and added nine rebounds and three steals while newcomer Angel Dorn added 14 points in 19 minutes as Biola cruised to a 76-42 win over La Sierra University in its season-opener on Saturday night at Chase Gymnasium.

The Eagles (1-0) had a solid all-around game to kick off the 2012-13 campaign, hitting 46.2 percent from the field whole limiting the Golden Eagles (1-2) to just 22 percent shooting.

Adams played a big roll in the solid shooting night, hitting 11-of-17 from the field to account for her 22-point night. She also had three steals, two assists, one block and just one turnover in 25 minutes of play.

Dorn, a junior transfer from Southern Utah University, connected on 6-of-10 from the field including both of her attempts from three-point range to finish with 14 points. She added a game-high four steals and four rebounds.

Biola set the tone early in the contest as Amy Freet drained a three-pointer 12 seconds into the contest. Biola would score the first nine points of the game and led 13-2 just under five minutes in.

The Eagles would stretch the lead to 15 points and took a 31-18 lead at the half. Biola stretched the lead quickly to 25 to start the second half, opening with a 17-5 run over the first five minutes and cruised from there.

Biola scored 36 of its 76 points in the paint with Adams counting for much of that. The Eagles also hit 9-of-22 from three-point range and 7-of-8 from the free throw line.

Biola hits the road next week, traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah, to take part in the Westminster College Tournament Thursday through Saturday. The Eagles open against the University of Montana-Western on Thursday, then face No. 5 Westminster on Friday. The classic wraps up with a game against No. 15 Lewis-Clark State on Saturday.
