Adijat Adams scored 24 points and added 15 rebounds and the Biola defense was on display as the 12th-ranked Eagles down No. 15 Lewis-Clark State 54-35 in Biola's final game at the Westminster Classic on Saturday.
The Eagles improve to 2-2 on the season after dropping a pair of tough games in the first two games of the classic. The Warriors fall to 0-4.
Biola's defense was impressive, holding that perennial powerhouse Lewis-Clark State team to what is believed to be its fewest points in its program history. The Eagles held the Warriors to just 26.3 percent shooting and forced 15 turnovers.
Adams dominated the game throughout, hitting 9-of-19 from the field with six of her 15 rebounds coming on the offensive glass. That helped Biola to 12 second-chance points and a dominating 32-22 edge in scoring in the paint.
Amy Freet contributed 10 points and seven rebounds for the Eagles while Chelsea Hill scored nine points and had seven assists.
The game was close through the first half as the Eagles controlled Lewis-Clark State's offense while looking to get their offense going. Hill hit one of two free throws with under 30 seconds to go to give Biola an 18-17 lead at the break.
The Eagles made the necessary offensive adjustments and came out firing in the second half, outscoring the Warriors 22-8 over the first 12 minutes of the second half. Adams had nine of her points over that stretch.
Despite scoring just nine points over the next eight minutes, the Eagles held Lewis-Clark State to just eight points and hit free throws down the stretch to held on for the win.
Biola returns to California, but stays on the road for its next game, taking on Cal State Dominguez Hills on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Carson. The Eagles then host Bethesda University in a non-conference game on Monday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
