Box Score SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. --- Junior Jessica Austin scored a pair of goals and Briana Williams recorded her sixth shutout as Biola defeated Arizona Christian 2-0 in a GSAC match at the Scottsdale Sports Complex on Tuesday night.

The Eagles win their third-straight match and move to 9-6-1 on the season and to 6-3-0 in GSAC play. Biola secures a finish of no worse than fourth in the GSAC, which earns the Eagles a first-round home game in the first round of the upcoming GSAC Tournament. The Firestorm fall to 4-10-0 and to 1-8-0 in conference play.

Austin provided all of the offense the Eagles needed, taking the team lead with her fourth and fifth goals of the season.

In the first half, Natalie Oliver fed Austin with a great pass, allowing her to beat her defender and win a one-on-one with keeper for the goal. The tally put Biola up 1-0 in the 39th minute.

Austin struck again in nearly the same fashion in the first few minutes of the second half, receiving a nice pass from Taylor Lundquist and beating the keeper on a one-on-one chance to make it 2-0 in the 49th minute.

Sophomore goalkeeper Briana Williams was fantastic in goal, making three saves and stopping a few other chances by the Firestorm. Williams, who was named the GSAC Defensive Player of the Week earlier in the day, earned her sixth shutout of the season and her third in the last five matches. She lowers her goals against average to 0.72--the third-best in the conference.

Biola peppered the Arizona Christian goal with 21 total shots, but Firestorm goalkeeper Sydney Roller-Sotak made eight saves to keep the scoring low.

The Eagles close out the regular season on Saturday with a huge GSAC showdown against The Master's College (11-4-2, 6-3-0 GSAC) at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are tied for third place in the GSAC standings with 18 points each. The Mustangs defeated Biola 2-1 in overtime on September 25 in the GSAC opener for both teams.
