Biola closes its regular-season road schedule with a 3-1 loss at Concordia Irvine before heading to Hilo

IRVINE, Calif. --- Biola Women's Soccer fell 3-1 at Concordia University Irvine on Saturday in the regular-season finale, as the Golden Eagles scored in the 19th, 51st and 78th minutes to build a three-goal lead before Mallory Palm answered late.

Concordia opened the scoring in the 19th minute, then doubled the lead six minutes into the second half. A third goal in the 78th minute made it 3-0.

Palm gave the Eagles life less than a minute later. Her unassisted goal in the 79th minute was her first of the season and cut the deficit to 3-1. Biola kept pressing, with Jade Alverio and Savannah Patton each getting shots away late, but the Golden Eagles held on.

Hayden Gehring and Briley Phelps led the Eagles with four shots apiece, with Gehring putting two on goal. Biola finished with 12 shots, four on goal, and held an 8-4 edge in shots after halftime. Gehring hit the top woodwork in the 64th minute, and Ella Martin did the same in the 18th.

Sami Robinson played the first half in goal and Laura Brennan the second.

Biola finished the regular season 8-5-3 overall and 5-2-2 in PacWest play.
