Joclyn Kirton added eight to lead No. 4 Biola to a 25-21, 25-18, 25-14 sweep over No. 8 The Master's College in an NAIA Top 10 showdown on Saturday afternoon at Chase Gymnasium.

Weststeyn had another strong game for Biola, recording 10 kills in 21 swings with just one error. The one error came on the first rally of the match, but she finished strong enough to post a .429 attack percentage and maintain her NAIA-best .455 mark in that category.
Kirton, who was making just her fourth start of the season, came up big with eight kills and had a .333 attack percentage in the match.
The Biola defense was also on display, holding the Mustangs to a .105 attack percentage and recording nine blocks and 44 digs. Libero Tara Rallis paced the defense with 15 digs and added one of seven aces for the Eagles. Freshman Chrissy Cunningham had 10 digs and four kills as well.
Biola got off to a quick start in the first set, taking an early 5-2 lead. The Eagles continued to lead 10-6 when the Mustangs came alive and used a long 7-3 run to tie the score at 13-13. Still tied at 15-15 a few points later, Biola took control with a 7-2 run of its own capped by kills from Weststeyn and Kirton. After The Master's rallied to pull back to within two at 23-21, Weststeyn closed out the set with a kill and an ace.
The second set went back and forth early with the Mustangs using a five-point run to take a 10-8 lead. Cunningham recorded back-to-back kills to end the rally, tie the score and start an 8-1 run to give Biola control. The Master's could get no closer than three the rest of the way with the Eagles closing out the set with four-straight points to win 25-18.
Biola opened the third set on a 6-1 run and led 8-2 in the early going. But The Master's was not ready to pack it in, using a long 11-6 run to pull to within one at 14-13. The Eagles responded in a big way, closing out the match with an 11-1 run. Freshman Britta Blaser recorded four kills and a block over that stretch with junior middle Chelsea Arnitz adding a kill and two solo blocks.
The victory extended Biola's winning streak over The Master's to 44-straight matches and gives the Eagles a 47-1 advantage in the all-time series. Biola has won 14 of the last 15 of those matches via the sweep.
Sam Dougherty led the Mustangs with seven kills and added two aces and a block. Rachel Taylor had six kills and three digs.
Biola's next match kicks off a busy week for the Eagles, starting with a trip to Costa Mesa for a GSAC match against No. 23 Vanguard. The Lions (15-9, 5-3 GSAC) have won six-straight matches including a dominating sweep over then-No. 11 Cal State San Marcos last week. The Eagles host Hope International on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. before taking on No. 1 Texas-Brownsville on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
