Michelle Clark picked a fantastic time for her first collegiate goal, making it a golden goal in the 94th minute of the match as Biola knocked off Hope International University 1-0 in a GSAC match on Wednesday afternoon at Cal State Fullerton.
The Eagles improve to 7-6-1 on the season with the victory and pick up three big GSAC points and move into a third-place tie in the conference standings with a 4-3-0 GSAC record. The Royals drop to 6-8-1 and to 1-6-0 in the conference.
Biola seemed to control much of the action throughout the contest, outshooting Hope 22-9 overall in the match. However, the Eagles could not find the back of the net, mostly thanks to six saves by Hope goalkeeper Jacqueline Talley.
In the overtime session, Biola finally was able to break through with a goal 3:34 into the extra period.
Jessica Austin carried the ball in toward goal on an nice build up, then slid a pass back to Clark who rocketed a shot under the bar from 30 yards out to end the match.
It was the first career goal for Clark, who has played and started in all 14 of Biola's matches this season, becomes the 14th different player to score at least one of the team's 24 goals on the season.

Briana Williams recorded her fifth shutout, making three saves--all in the second half. The sophomore is now 5-4-1 on the season and lowers her team-best goals against average to 0.90 and to 0.79 in five conference matches.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday, hosting a huge GSAC match against No. 23 Concordia, which trails Biola by three points in the conference standings. Biola defeated Concordia (8-6-0, 3-4-0 GSAC) 2-1 when the teams met in Irvine on September 29.
