IRVINE, Calif. --- The Biola men's team ran what Coach
Jonathan Zimmerman dubbed as one of the best team efforts in his tenure as coach and finished sixth in a tough field at the UC Irvine/Asics Cross Country Invitational on Saturday.
The Eagles were led by transfer
Collin Christensen, who finished seventh overall in 25:26.4.
Kevin Horchler placed 23rd in 25:55.8 while
Danny Ledesma too home 34th place (26:13.3) and
Brian Aukshunas finished 39th (26:17.2).
Rounding out the group was
Andrew Daedler (50th - 26:33.9),
Spencer Lyle (58th - 26:48.6),
Scott Weir (99th - 27:46.2),
Kyle Norman (116th - 28:12.1), and
Joseph Harabedian (120th - 28:20.9).
Biola recorded 137 team points, finishing just one point behind Westmont College and ahead of Azusa Pacific and No. 17 Vanguard. Cal State San Marcos edged out UC San Diego by one point to win the men's race.
The women had the week off and return to action on Saturday, Sept. 17, for the San Diego State University Invitational at 9:00 a.m. The men's team will rejoin the women's team in their next action, traveling up to Willamette University in Oregon on October 1.
