LA MIRADA, Calif. --- Biola University freshman CeCe Luster has been named to the 2011 NAIA Softball All-America Second-Team as announced by the national body on Thursday.

Luster, a 5-10 freshman pitcher/designated hitter from Lake Elsinor (Canyon HS), had a monster rookie year for the Eagles, leading the team in numerous offensive categories and adding her name to the record book along the way.

Luster led the team with a .382 batting average and ended the season ranked 11th in the NAIA with 66 RBIs. Her RBI total shattered the previous school record of 52. In addition, she led Biola with 65 hits and 101 total bases. Luster was second on the team with nine home runs and a .594 slugging percentage as well.

The freshman was also the team's top pitcher, posting a 12-11 record with a 2.10 ERA. She struck out 99 batters in a team-high 130 innings pitched.

Luster is Biola's first softball All-American since Lindsay Nuckolls earned second-team honors in 2007.

Biola wrapped up the 2011 season with a record of 27-26, reaching the first round of the Golden State Athletic Conference tournament.
